Introduction To Bobbin Lace

Pre-registration is required for this class.
Fee: $25 to be paid to the teacher.

Join the class and learn the basic skills of making lace!
Enter the delightful world of bobbin lace making. Learn basic bobbin lace skills while working on a lace project that can be completed during class. Fee includes materials and rental of a kit.

Kumiko is an internationally renowned Bobbin Lace teacher and designer. She has studied at the Kantcentrum in Bruges and continues to be involved by designing patterns for their magazine, Kant. Kumiko has published many pattern books and folios. The latest, Kumiko's Duchesse, includes a CD with pictures of how to execute the beautiful patterns. Kumiko will teach Binche, Flanders, Duchesse, Paris and Binche design

Pre-Registration is required.
Previous lace making experience is necessary.
Fee: $50 per day, minimum of 3 days.

Learn Idrija Lace

The craft of bobbin lace-making occupies a very important place in the history and life of Idrija, Slovenia. Idrija housewives began to make lace as early as 1696. It has traveled to many parts of the world as a handcraft and art project.
